Irma La Douce (Turkish Version: Sokak Kızı İrma); the beauty and charming naivety portrayed by S. McLean had impressed me since my childhood days.

In 2007, I decided to dedicate my latest exhibition to honor this lady who elegantly and consistently adorned herself in the color "green" throughout the entire movie.

The completion of my exhibition took until 2011, and it was officially and virtually launched and showcased at sokakkiziirma.com with its 125 tableaus.

The following year, in 2012, it came to life in the real world at Işık University Maslak Art Gallery. For this exhibition, I sought an alluring, intelligent, and beautiful lady, preferably not from our everyday world, to don what I had designed.

Irma La Douce became the perfect choice, with her green topknot, green netted silk stockings, and the Coquette Dog always at her feet serving as unmistakable symbols.

These were the primary reasons I selected Irma for my latest exhibition, "Irma's Closet." I depicted her in nearly all of my tableaus, capturing the essence of her authentic "green" style. Miniatures Postmodern Paintings Exhibitions: Irma's Closet nilgun yonter

The preparation for the art exhibition titled "Irma's Wardrobe," which is one of the painting exhibitions with the theme "clothing" and ©Postmodern Miniatures, began around the end of 2007 by Nilgün Yönter. (Perhaps she had started the exhibition and its content design since the early 2000s?)

She needed a hero to whom she could dress the designed clothes, place within the designed decor and scenario... Who could it be? Would it be Mary Poppins, who lived in the early 1900s and was the heroine of her admired women's novels; or would it be Liza Doolittle?... They did not align with the glamorous, free, and independent female characters of that era...

Regardless of the fact that her job was the worst job in the world, a film hero who had not lost her charm, style, and the "green" clothes and accessories in her eye color would be the ideal "Lead Role" for the "Irma La Douce" paintings...

Thus, she began her work in 2007. She had found her hero...

She divided her paintings into "7" sections:

"Green Clothes" ... she gathered the clothes in the color group that matched Irma...

"Wardrobes" ... mainly wardrobe models and what could be around them...

"Hats" ... She could draw hats she wanted to dress Irma in...

"Shoes" ... similarly...

"Underwear" ... These were the underwear models that a well-dressed lady should have in her wardrobe...

"In the Shops" ... It was the illustration of the types of shops that Irma could have based on her personality and interests...

And finally, "Miniature Paintings" ... this last section consisted of small paintings that could be a concise summary of the entire exhibition.

In addition... this exhibition has three distinct features:

1) - It took 5 years to prepare the paintings...

2) - Each painting has a story, a fairy tale to tell...

3) - Each painting has "fabric mats" on the edges and white "spring branches" on them...
